@nflnetwork: 17. Matt Ryan, QB, @Atlanta_Falcons LINK #NFLTop100

Hmmm...what do we think of this? Obviously Brees is still higher on the list, deservedly so. I think Ryan deserves to be on the list, but 17 overall? Damn. For someone who's about as un-clutch as I've seen, that's pretty damn high. Is Gonzales On the list already? If so, I think he needs to be the one at 17, not Ryan.

The future hall of famer is in the future hall of famer spot.

Did I mention he is a future hall of famer?

Ryan is an exceptional quarterback. I'm okay with him being ranked top 20, even though a lot of the list is a sham.

I'm fine with that, he's good. I won't let my bias cloud my opinion of him. Even though I can't fricking stand him

He's a really good QB, and while he did have a lot of weapons, he did play with a very porous defense. He seemed to be more confident and looser this past season, taking more shots down the field.

He was fairly clutch in the playoffs last year.

He did make a hell of a throw in the Seattle game to win it.

However, he has a habit of disappearing for long stretches.

We call that January where I'm from.

He was balling against the best defense in the league during the first quarter. They lost the game, but I have to give him credit for that at least.

Matt Ryan is a very good QB and he has actually led a bunch of 4th quarter comebacks IIRC. IMO he is in the next tier of QBs after the big four of Rodgers, Manning, Brady, and Brees.

17 may be a couple of spots high, but I think he is definitely top 20-25.

If you want to call it that.

This is typically how at Atlanta Falcons game goes against just about any level of competition:
1st half: Execute flawlessly. Jump out to probably at least a two touchdown lead.
2nd half: Ryan absolutely falls apart and cant complete a pass to save his life. Usually involves some kind of fumble/pick that was pretty bad. Other team starts chipping away, eventually tying it up or even going by a point or two.
Last minute: Ryan completes a pass to Gonzales around the opponents 25-35 yard line and sets up for a game-winning walk-off Bryant FG.

I'm telling you, go back and look at all of their games. Same exact thing happened against Arizona, Oakland, Carolina, and Seattle in the playoffs.

this entire list is ridiculous. if they're doing this by season, ryan should be higher. as much as it pains me to say this.

Sorry my man, you're just wrong. Last season there were a total of 3 games in the regular season that came down to 3 points or less. 3.
In comparison to the Saints, the Saints also had 3 games that came down to 3 points or less.

Ruh Roh. Guess Drew is just a shell...?

ETA: Now, if you want to say he hasn't played up to his best potential in the last 3-4 years of playoffs. Ok, I'll give you that I guess. Mainly I'll just say he got spanked in the GB and NYG games a few years ago. Outside of that, he's been pretty damn good. It's the D of ATL that has blown the games.

Tell you what. I'll let ATL win every game by 1 point all year long. Then you can debate what # he's ranked at in a poll.

I'll sleep well.

When they can do that, we'll see about that.
