Dude, just admit you're an idiot and move on. Brees is a league MVP candidate, and would have won it last year if not for the Saints defense being terrible.

lol, 2nd tier is 200+ catches and 2000+ yards in the past two seasons?
he is way better than lance moore, who is the epitome of 2nd tier, its not even comparable..
brees had the 3rd most picks in the league right? some of his decisions are just as questionable..
all they would need to give me for brees is cutler and marshall, i dont see hows its that much of an issue

Brees - 34 TDs, 17 int, 96.2 rtg, 65% comp
Cutler - 25 TDs, 18 int, 86.0 rtg 62% comp
You're an idiot if you want to trade Brees.

nice comparison, real objective, look at brees' line in his second full nfl season
and compare that to the cutler line you posted
205 356 57.6 2,108 5.9 11 15
brees has thrown 35 picks in the past 2 years
not saying he sucks, but he hasnt been the most clutch qb in the nfl by far, and if we had the chance to get cutler and marshall for him and one of our wrs, we would be just as good or better, and no one could be objective about it and think otherwise

I doubt we could afford the salaries of Cutler and Marshall anyways. Even if we could it would be a waste. Now if we could draft Wells and trade Bush for Marshall and maybe get some additional pick out of it that would be awesome. I seriously doubt Bush stays here long term anyways.

Too bad its not Brees' second year. Right now, Brees is the better QB, hands down. You also have to look at other things besides stats. Brees is great for the community, for the city, and does alot of charity. Cutler, simply, is a bitch.

ok that was only his THIRD SEASON>..
he played with backup tightends and everyone of his running backs got hurt..
drew brees is the man.. im just thinking for the future.. yeah and you compared drew brees and manning and tom brady.. difference is they have rings and they can audible..
and you telling me that drew doesn't make some DUMB arse mistakes?
that tampa bay game? 3 interception? 1 was in TRIPLE coverage...
jay cutler is not playing for denver because everything they told him was a lie.. i wouldn't want to be there either..

how do you know cutler wouldnt do the same charity work that brees does? im sure the pr ppl would hook him up.. not to take anything away from brees. but im sure the franchise and nfl has a lot to do with what charity work he does..
how many more years at this level does brees have compared to how many years at most likely a similar level for cutler? obviously cutler isnt the qb brees is today, but brees has been given better opportunities to succeed.. if you give me an maxima to race you in a ferrari, i could be a similar driver but ill never beat you in a race

I am not really understanding why you would risk replacing Brees for another WR and a slightly younger guy at QB. Brees is currently a better QB. They would not be able to afford Colston, Marshall, and Bush(he is mainly a WR talent IMO). I don't think it would improve our current team anymore than a little more youth at QB. Is that youth worth screwing up a good thing?

what good thing? how is this any different from the 1st three haslett years except our playoff win was one round deeper?
obviously its not going to happen, but if it could i think it would need some real consideration - they could make the numbers work at least for a couple years..
as bad as the defense was, we were just a few plays away from winning at least 3 more games (wash, den, and minn, all 3rd down conversions that wouldve clinched) so with a healthy and better defense (and a much tougher schedule though), we will see..
i would def say that the window wont be open much longer with brees though.. the window stays open a little longer with a guy like cutler, and whoever we end up getting to replace brees wont be at the caliber of cutler

I say trade Harrington for Cutler straight up. Then let Cutler learn and take lessons on how to actually be a team leader and true NFL QB.
