grow a sack. Intimidation and shite talking is part of LaRon's game. He won't change it.period. LaRon isn't right in the head and it is one of the factors that makes him a great player.

BAYOU BUZZ: How were LaRon and Dawan as kids?
Mr. Landry: When they were 5 and 6 years old, I had to go to Wal-Mart and buy two pairs of Sugar Ray Leonard boxing gloves.
It was always LaRon who would do the crazy, wild things. When he was 6 or 7, I was driving with them in the back of the truck. I told them, 'I bet you can't jump out of truck and fly like Superman.'
LaRon took the dare and lept out of the moving truck. He busted up his teeth and had to go to the dentist, but he was all right.
He's fricking crazy. That's why he does it.

one of the most overrated players in recent LSU history as far as on the field production late in his college career.

Okay, if you're going to make a statement like that then back it up with stats. IE how does Laron's stats compare to Steltz or other Safties? Until I see proof that says Laron was overrated I'm not going to beleive it.

OVERRATED !!!!....that's a laugh.....how can you possibly say that.....

He does talk too much shite, i guess when he was at LSU he was our shite talker so it didn't matter.
Posted on 9/15/08 at 10:31 pm to Esarhaddon
Laron can talk all the shite he wants. He is probably one of the best safeties in the league.

3 INTs a year playing FS while being hailed as the best safety in america because he juiced up and teabagged every WR that caught a 15 yard pass on him. He was above average in coverage but by no means great. Rarely made plays on the ball, had hands of stone, forced 1 total fumble his senior year when he was allegedly such a badass head hunter.
Meanwhile, Reggie Nelson was actually making plays over in Gainesville helping them to a national title.
OMG but he did hit the Bama QB so hard and that was so omg like awesome omg.

I love watching players talk shite. It's part of the game.

Laron Landry is a beast. Wish the Saints had two safeties like him. Rant out.

Max, I see that you failed to mention run support, sacks, passes broken up etc. etc. etc. I'll give you Nelson but I still do no beleive that Laron was overrated. If Nelson was the only Saftey better than Laron that year then that still makes him one of the best.

Yea the arse whipping was all Reggies fault. I mean the way our O looked we would have easily driven down the field and scored if he would have just fair catched it.
2 interceptions by Brees.
Fumble by Shockey.
2 carries by Deuce.
6 carries for 8 yards by P. Thomas.
Reggie has the most yards in rushing and receiving.
ALL REGGIES FAULT
frickING BOOM.

You're a stupid motherfricker. And to the dude that said LL will be in the pro bowl but Reggie won't. You're a fricking LSU homer idiot. 130+ APY per game and scores in both, but he won't make it. If he puts up those numbers all year, you bet your arse he will, stupid frick....

Yea, that makes you sound REALLY credible...
Did you even read what I wrote? I said NOTHING about how the game was Reggie's fault...so what are you and he talking about? Reggie had 10 rushes for 28 yards and his receiving wasn't there until that 2 minute drive at the end of the first half when they were playing prevent. Also, you and he act like Reggie was a bright spot. He said "Reggie has the most yards in rushing and receiving"...so we had one of our worst offensive games but because Reggie led our team with 28 yards rushing its cool...just shut up and realize that unless Reggie somehow is able to run up the middle he won't make the Pro Bowl.
Peterson, Barber, Westbrook, Gore, Turner, Portis, Grant...those are just the guys that are absolutely better running backs than Reggie it doesn't even include the "amybes"...I love Reggie but if he made the Pro Bowl it would be as a running back and when he has 600 yards of rushing, he's not gonna make it.

was he a free safety or OLB?

I think the cutoff for the pro bowl is 601 for a RB.
Ha ha! naw, I agree all those "pure" backs that you mentioned are better backs, but Reggie is, dare I repeat this again, a scat back. Sometimes they try to use him as a pure down back and thats not the proper role for him I believe.
What burns me is the stupid Reggie taunting lost us the game bullshite. If anything, Reggie Bush keeps us in games. That arguement holds no weight.

Exactly. If he wouldnt have scored that TD we would have probably lost by 2 scores. Cause our O looked like dogshit.

I agree and I didn't say it cost us the game. I said it seems like when he talks shite it comes back to bite us. It's a lot easier for a FS or a defender to talk shite because he's the one going for guys to hit them...Reggie has to get the ball and then everyone is trying to kick his arse.
I also agree in the terms of how we use him. He's not a run up the middle kind of guy so I don't know why we keep trying to do it

reggie's point this sunday was nothing like the bears game. i saw the replay and it really looks like he is pointing DIRECTLY at the saints player running upfield with all of them. it was very quick. looked like he was giving props to his blockers..
the bears game he was pointing all the bears defenders out.. especially urlacher. it was a long point.. with much more intent.

I stated that EXACT same thing at work Monday. No one agreed with me, so I am glad someone thought he was giving props to the block that freed him up. That is what it looked like to me.
