In my opinion, instead of the BPA at 28, the Saints will use their 1st pick on a CB.

There isn't a bigger hole on next year's team than the #2 CB. There is no way we go through the season without either getting a day one starter in the draft or a veteran in free agency.
I even think they will use some draft capital and trade up to make sure they get one of the big 3 CBs.
We can get backup DT, WR, & LBs in round 2.

Caleb Farley, Asante Samuel Jr Shaun Wade, Jaycee horn, Greg Newsome II? Not in any order.
Patrick Surtain is worth trading up for IMO.

I agree - CB is the likely pick and biggest need or it could get ugly quick on defense
Only thing that would change my mind would be if a OT or a DE/LB type would fall that far that they really like - they need to start thinking about a Armstead replacement. Another one to watch is the player from Tulsa that everyone is high on.
I do think Saints need to keep all their picks this year with needs on the roster and try to avoid trading up to overreach for someone

I also don't enjoy when they trade up.

He most certainly is not. Will get toasted with some regularity in the league.
Samuel, Newsome or maybe Ifeatu would be perfect at 28

We will see. Hard to tell with any prospect until they play.

You can't for the last time move up in the 1st this year without paying a huge price because of the QB's raising the cost.
Even moving up in the second is going to cost more.

IMO, it will be who they think is the BPA at one of three positions, CB, LB and (maybe to a lesser extent) DT. If they have a LB rating higher than the best CB at that time they will take the LB even if CB might be a greater "need".
The wildcard is WR. There could be run on other positions that push a WR that Payton loves down towards 27. He doesn't have the QB any longer who he can just assume will make unheralded WRs better. He may feel he needs another playmaker there with a new starting QB
