That’s great. But 40-15 as opposed to 25-5 gets you somewhere between 30 and 90 more points on the season than your opponent depending on the results of the interceptions without factoring anything else in. You take that cushion when games aren’t played and run with it over some potential game changing scenario(s).
Any of those 15 guaranteed touchdowns are just as/more likely to be “game changing” scenarios as they are actually putting points on the board. The interceptions could also easily be a potential 3 and out as opposed to a play that changes the game.
