I wish we signed Mason Rudolph to backup Carr.

I’ve watched a lot of his games I’m college as well as when he played in Pittsburgh. He’s very underrated IMO and could be a starter if he had the right guys around him. Not afraid to stand in the pocket and make the tough throws shine getting hit and he’s more mobile than people give him credit for. For $2.6 million guaranteed Tennessee got a steal. He will overtake Levis by week 10. Not saying he’s a superstar but he’s worlds better than Nathan Peterman. I would have gladly done the deal the Steelers got for Fields. If he sucks and is a bust all you’re out is a 6th round pick next year. I just have no faith in this front office or the head coach. I do have hope that Kubiak can be a good addition though.

He actually played well when they realized Pickett was a bust.

Peterman is essentially a coach
We have a 4th round pick QB and yall want to spend money on backups; if Carr goes down, why not see whether he’s any good for trade bait purposes?

Just about anybody would have been better than Peterman. It’s almost like Allen & Loomis intentionally tried to find the shittiest QB in the league and told him to come on down to New Orleans. This tells me right here how serious Gayle & Loomis are about winning.

I agree with you on this because a Nathan Peterman is such a Dennis Allen type of guy. Smh

quote:Peterman would be a laughable signing in the Arena league. It is as if Allen does not want to do anything to ruffle Carr's feathers. It was obvious by Allen's ridiculous press conferences whereby he threw many other players under the bus while coddling Carr where the issue is. Allen is a major problem for this team and the dissatisfaction of the way he obviously played favorites have rubbed many veterans the wrong way.

I heard a guy on his radio show yesterday, Brian something, I forget his last name. Anyways, the guy says the Saints has to be the most mediocre team in the league. They're always working on trying to fix their damn salary cap every damn year, and for what to sign more mediocre players.

There are also many options between paying top dollar for a backup and just getting some semblance of competence.
Not wanting to pay 8 million for a backup does make sense. But guys like wentz, Huntley, Dobbs wouldnt cost that. Nor are they a threat to carr.
Like if the Saints are gona keep pretending they are competing you cant sign that guy
