If they beat the Panthers next Sunday:
Saints win the NFC South and will be the No. 2 seed in the NFC with a bye and at least one home game in the playoffs.

If they lose to the Panthers on Sunday ...

And if they beat Tampa Bay in two weeks and the Falcons beat the Panthers in their finale

Saints are still the No. 2 seed

And if they beat Tampa Bay and the Panthers beat the Falcons
Saints are either the fifth or sixth seed. Only the 49ers can pass them in the wild-card standings.

And if they lose to Tampa Bay, it gets complicated
Saints could be a fifth or sixth seed or out of the playoffs. The only way the Saints don't make the playoffs is if Arizona and San Francisco both finish 11-5.

It's funny that theoretically we can clinch a bye before Seattle does.

And from the Extremely Unlikely to Happen Department, the Saints can still win the #1 seed if:

1) Saints win their last two games; and
2) Seattle loses their last two games; and
3) San Francisco wins their last two games.

In this scenario the 49ers and Seahawks would finish tied. San Francisco would win the divisional tiebreaker and win the NFC West. Since the Saints beat the 49ers they would own the seeding tiebreaker and be the #1 seed.
