Saints are championship material everywhere else.

Just be prepared for more heartbreak come playoff time.

Please help me understand this large sample size after one regular season game.

I’ll wait.

Start with the NFC Championship game...it wasn’t that long ago.

Maybe they can improve. Only time will tell.

Ah, gotcha. You don’t understand the difference between last season and this season. See, there’s this thing called the off-season where personnel changes via the draft and free agency. Also, players improve via offseason conditioning and training camp.

It’s okay, you’ll pick it up eventually. Same process happens every year.

What personnel changed in the secondary?

And if they improved in the offseason, you think it showed tonight?

So you still don’t grasp that tonight was the first game of a new season and that last year has zero impact on this year.

ETA: You must have been a real joy to be around after last year’s start to the season.

Take it easy dude.

This will be a very different team in a few weeks imo. Enjoy the ride.

No. Our DBs are notorious slow starters.

Look on the bright side. We had six fricking sacks and a pick. We’re way ahead of where we were a year ago defensively. And really, It’s our 2 minute D that needs work. We had a top 5 offense in the league held to 21. If the final was 27-21 the entire narrative would be changed.

In fact, we need more work offensively than defensively. We HAVE to get Cook more involved. Teams aren’t going to let us take the underneath all game like the Texans. We’re going to have to throw it deep to intermediate on teams and get consistent production from Cook to make that happen

Two consecutive seasons with dramatic, heartbreaking, last second playoff losses.

And if not for Lutz’s heroics, tonight could have been the same.

I think we can agree the play tonight by the secondary is not good enough.

Yep. Par for the course though. It's not time to start worrying yet.

Do you remember what Fitzmagic did last year? The DBs will be fine.

No, he doesn’t. He also doesn’t know how seasons work.

Next he’s gonna say we’re fricked because Fred Thomas couldn’t cover in 2006.

That is he only thing you’ve said that is factual. They didn’t play well tonight: fact. Last season’s play has an effect on this year: dumb non fact.

Don’t post dumb non facts.
