Does the fanbase have the mental capacity to endure patience for a true rebuild to materialize ?

To be fair, I don't think anybody was ready after the SP/Brees era, but we all need to accept reality at this point. The Saints need to get the salary cap under control, Dennis Allen has to be fired, and we need some youth through the draft.
