Do we have enough cap room left to re-sign Carl Nicks long-term?

We still have a first rounder to sign and my guess would be around $8 mil over 4 years. Nicks is our top priority left and will command close to but not as much as how much Evans got paid. Does it look promising that we sign him to a long-term contract?

i dunno about this year, but if nobody signs him he's on a RFA tender and we'll get a shot next year

I have no idea. But I know that Payton/Loomis don't lose anybody they don't want to lose unless another suitor goes crazy and overpays (Fujita)

If we can't this year I would imagine he'll be a priority next year. I don't know if SP could pass on having Nicks, Tennent and Evans as our interior O-linemen.

Not sure how much cap space is left but I wish they would show some signs on what is going to happen to with Goodwin and Thomas and other FA signings.

I'm not sure how much it'll help them if they leave Nicks for next season. We'll have plenty of quality players coming up for FA after 2011 -- Porter, Colston, Meachem, to name a few. I'm sure there's more.
