He seemed to do fine last year, although it wasn't his strong point. Dropping weight might have helped.

generally a thumper of a stout thumpy middle linebacker would be his coverage skills. They just need to be physical and quick enough to fight through blocks.

Yeah I really only remember one specific play where Gonzales exploited him and made him look pretty silly. But then again, he does that to everyone.
