against another other LB corp yes. Vilma is great. But it is not hard to leave him out against the likes of Jackson, Johnson, Swilling, and Mills--especially of you saw these guys play week in and week out. the Dome Patrol is pretty much the unanimous #1 LB corp in the history of the NFL.

It was in response to someone who said Vilma instead of Johnson.

But thanks for your usual irrelevant commentary.

Good god. Now you are following me to the Help Board where i requested the gif below to make more irrelevant commentary and lame flame attempts.

Now I know you are obsessed. But, it is typical of you. I'll take it as a compliment.

At first I thought you had e-mail alerts, but I now notice my pager has been missing. Surely you are using it for my posts.

You got it suntiger. I'm on board with Tyrone Hughes for PR, Sammy Knight, and Hilliard definitely needs to be on that list. Make all the arguments you want about his numbers, but the fact is, they are great by saints standards and thats what this thread is--all time saints roster.

Also if you're ready to pencil in jahri, then you might as well pencil in tracy porter at cb.

Time will tell, but i think we all realize how lucky we are that we are watching a large portion of this all time roster play before our eyes now

I agree. 4-5 more years and many should be on a consensus all-time roster

Um, I did watch them play week in and week out. Unless the game was blacked out and I didn't go. Swilling had the numbers and Jackson and Mills were absolute studs. Johnson was kind of the forgotten one, but was still great and made a couple of pro bowls. If Vilma had played his entire career for the Saints, I'd say Vilma over Johnson for sure. Especially considering who Vilma is playing with compared to the Dome Patrol. Right now it's pretty even in my opinon.

Warren was good, but I don't know if I'd take him over La'Roi Glover.

And would you go Wilks over Will Smith?

Suntiger,

Yes, I take Buford Jordan over Ironhead Heyward. If you go back and watch tape of Jordan, he was a devastating blocker, plus he was a good runner and receiver. I know the same can be said for Heyward, but Jordan was less of a headache as a player in that you didn't have to worry about him being in shape and being focused to play on a weekly basis. Jordan was very underrated.

I take Wilks and Warren over Glover and Smith due to their longevity and the fact they were both stellar defensive linemen. The one fact that gets lost in all the deserved hype of the Dome Patrol is that the LBers, especially Mills and Johnson, had some pretty good d-linemen taking up blockers and keeping them clean to stuff the run. The defenses that Wilks and Warren played on were much more physical and disruptive than than the defenses Glover and Smith played on and it started up front.
