One play did not lose the game. Williams played a great game. He put his head down and badly missed one tackle. Saints had other opportunities to put the game away, but they did not make the play.
Let's look at other plays.

A Saints player was offsides on a TD pass by Brees in the first half.
Brees gets sacked and Saints have to try for a long FG which they miss.
Saints did not pick up the 1st with 30 seconds left and had to kick the field goal. Getting the 1st allows them to run down the clock. Min never gets ball back.
Officials had some bad calls, no one is perfect.

This loss hurst because the game was 99.95% over.
The Saints have a great team, and many injuries. Getting those players healthy will be the key to winning next season.
Here's to a great year and a better upcoming season.

Everything is lost. They wasted a lot of great performances in this game and the season overall. Getting to that point and winning games in the NFL is not easy. Them repeating this performance next season is not likely.

The fake fans on this board don't ubderatand the truth to what you say.

They are in denial right now trying to make it feel ok.

What happened today was a travesty that will be felt for a long time.

And freak marcus williams. Freak him royally.

I expect the Saints to be better next season. I expect their defense to NEVER EVER EVER put their head down when trying to tackle. That alone would make their defense better.
Getting some key players healthy will also help. Having another excellent draft will also help.
It is hard to repeat this effort, but the Patriots do it.

Yay, Wentz comes back next season and the NFC will be just as difficult.
