I stopped because I grew bored with it. Was in 5 different leagues at one point. The league kept changing the rules, growing rosters, increasing # of starters; which led to slim pickings in fa/ww. Then there would be alliances drawn so people wouldn't trade with you unless you were related/close friends. And, if you were really good, everyone was afraid to trade because they didn't want to improve your team.
With that said, I had a league where I won 1 time in 10+ years. Yet, I was always top 3 in scoring, and even had a few years where I was the #1 scorer, yet still had more total points scored against me than I scored. With that said, the inactivity within the league turned me off.

Never played in this type of league, but I had a family member in the league that was strictly top scorer. 8 or 10 teams, the top scorers would get a W, lower scorers would get the L. Do that through week 13. Top 4 teams go to a 3 week playoff and the scoring from regular season resets. Top total after 3 weeks wins.
I had a league where we played 2 games a week during regular season. Traditional random H-2-H for game 1, then top 5 scorers v bottom 5 scorers (would have to adjust 2 game schedule every Tues). Playoff was traditional H-2-H
