The hall of fame in basketball is pretty easy to get into and he’s had a major impact on the league over his decades in it. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he did

HOF or not(and it’s pretty easy) I think his larger legacy will be made or broken with this team.
He has some serious highs: building a Finals level squad and being an early pioneer in the space era and building around bigs in the modern era.
And some inarguable lows: His dual coach/FO role in Detroit, and while I think it is unfair to hold it against him given the context, being replaced in Miami(though it appears by most accounts there was little any coach could have done to stop Pat Riley from coming back, and I think it should be asterisked that Riley only took over once Shaq got healthy).
If he turns NO into a perennial contender and manages to maintain the respect of Zion, he’ll cement his legacy. If that doesn’t happen, he’ll likely go down as a Frank Vogel or Thibs type pre-Lakers and pre-Knicks. A guy that had a short heyday as a top 5ish coach, but the game passed him by.

He will go down as a fat libtard that looks like a Walrus and can’t coach.
