If pels waited until next year trade deadline to send AD off

Opt out of trading him this offseason. When trade deadline approaches next season, dump him off for a few young studs and multi year draft picks to a 2020 playoff contender. Seems like this approach will open up the market of players on teams that are not being mentioned. Maybe a team like Dallas will want to deal Donic or Porzingis. (Just one example)

Just throwing it out there. Has not really been talked about much on here.

Double edged sword. Teams can low ball us because he’d be a free agent 4 months after deadline and we’ll be left with nothing.

I def get that but if they think AD is a piece that can win them a championship next season, why wouldn’t they?

Only thing this does is possibly open up a trade where the Lakers are able to trade a Kemba/Jimmy/ if they sign anyone significant this summer.

I don’t think any of that negates having a disgruntled AD on your team for half a season
