as the good ship Pelican sinks into the foamy sea, we bid fare thee well to expectations for a home series. we are reduced to hope that Zion returns so Pels snag 6th and simultaneously hope that the lakers fail in painful and goofy ways we can applaud. meanwhile: irl lakers are now at least good enough to take a series. davis looks great. oof.

so im reminding everyone to enjoy the very next game.
as it is.
not that pels win.
but to enjoy the plays and athletic performance.
be here now. its free of pain. its free of wanting need.
love the game.

We are in 7th, 2 games behind 4th, 3 behind 3rd, and some of you act like there's no hope when we are hopefully looking to be finally healthy down the stretch against a lower end schedule. Yes expectations aren't as high as when we were the one seed and the trade deadline did make the west tougher, but nut up. Hopefully we can win a playoff series (or more) and prime up for 24, which to me was always the season we were looking at more realistically having a chance to win it all.

my bad. mea maxima culpa.

i find hoping painful when i have no idea whether zion recovers in time for a run to 4th.
its on me.

forgive me.
mea maxima culpa.

Zion appears to be basically done for the season and might be back (of course, out of shape again) for a couple of games at the end of the season IF we are still in playoff contention.
In the meantime, a guy like Buddy Hield in his 7th season has missed a grand total of 3 games in his entire career.
Teams need reliable players not glass players that are always injured.

i was one who wanted to keep buddy. we overpayed for the big guy who had lower leg injury after an incredible few days where they both had 30+ and i looked wrong until i was right. Sacramento got more than one try with pels picks. i think one hit.
buddy was good but not great. defense?
