Common fouls count for nothing until the bonus, just possession is awarded. In the Bonus they are counted like
Shooting fouls which count for 1 point, then a jump ball occurs with players of each teams choosing- but those players cant ever go twice in a row.

Fouls on 3 ptrs are counted like Flagrant and Clear Path fouls and count for 1 point + possession (flagrant on 3atmpt=2pts+poss).

Players only ever shoot real free throws in a hockey shootout style rotation after the end of double OT, with no one else lined up, everything on the line.

Alternate teams each shot with 7 shooters from each (have to have played). Go in order until a team misses a 2nd time & the other team makes the next shot- if they too miss, the team with who gets their 3rd miss first, loses.

Dumars plz tell Silver you figured it out and convince him to do it for all of us; it was nice of you to share with me your bold plan- i hope you're ok with my leak, Joe.

devaluing FTs is an intriguing idea but that’s too convoluted to even sniff traction. And if they ever do a shootout in basketball, it better not be FTs. Hockey/Soccer 5 on 5 style with 30 foot 3s or something.

Instead of a shootout just switch it to a game of 2 on 2 to 21 for anything beyond the 2nd OT.
