i feel like our 1st round pick is pretty valuable at this point...we need to trade for a three sooner rather than later

It seems like every AD team hovers around .500 until the allstar break.

We need a person or persons who can keep Jrue off the ball permanently.

All that matters is that we are on the other side of the bracket from GS. If we are, and everyone is healthy, we get to the WCF.

Agree, sooner is better. But the more I look at it the more I think we need to piece together a package deal that brings us a starting level wing and a back up PG, something like a deal for Bazemore/Lind from the Hawks. That may take a bit longer to put together + be more expensive, but it would be worth it to plug those gaps.

One problem on doing a deal sooner could be that, with all the parity, it's a seller's market leading team's to value their assets a bit higher than normal on the sell side.

It may be beneficial to have a minimum of two people other than Jrue who can play point guard. Who’s going to guarantee us that Payton comes back 100%, or that his 4 game sample size is indicative of how things will actually be when he gets back?

Even if they’re as good as they appeared during the games he’s played, they need someone on the roster who can dribble the ball and have better decision making habits than Jrue does.

And no, Tim Frazier is not that guy. If Elfrid isn’t going to be back until 2019, the Pels need to bring in a ball handler yesterday.

My boy played a little solid D alst night...got some boards and had an easy put-back. His twelve minutes last night, or whatever, is how he should be used, if ever...

yeah i think when payton comes back, Frazier backing Payton will be a strong point for this team, with the pace we play

This is nonsense. The Pelicans have won 1 game against Utah in 3 years and got swept by Minnesota last year. And most of the games haven't even been close.

Tim Frazier is not good enough to be the backup PG on this team. He’s serviceable when you hide him with AD, Jrue, Niko/Julius, but only against certain teams. I’d imagine he’ll be fine tonight since Dragic is out. But if we think Tim Frazier is going to hold this together for another month against most teams, we’re going to be really disappointed come January.

just keep flirting with .500 for another month, and all is well.

That justifies keeping the current roster in place...to me anyway.

*(20-20) headed in January, and we could easily be better than that.

And, looking at the schedule, we can make a huge statement as a healthy team mid-January on the road.

The West will end up a lot like it did last season except maybe from 2-8 instead of 3-8. GSW will make a move to the top after the break. The West is wide open!
