Would Hendrix and 70s Nola have worked?

Both Jimi and that 70s era with The Meters, Longhair, Dr. John, etc. had very distinctive sounds, also all seemed to collaborate well with other musicians. Yet Jimi's style was so different. Would they have meshed well together?

I've also wondered the same thing about Jimi and Stevie Wonder's 70s part of his career. Hopefully AI can create some of this for me before I die.
