Why shouldn’t I turn my old 112 combo into a speaker cab?

I have an old Orange OB35 bass combo. The speaker blew a while back. I used the amp as a “head” for a while until it started smoking when plugged in.

Why shouldn’t I:
-Use a needle nose and break/pull the electrical so that no one accidentally plugs it in
-buy a 1x12 driver (like the LAVOCE WSF122.50, found in Orange’s $800 112 bass cab)
-install the driver (easy, as the cab is already prepped for this style driver)
- splice the wires/resolder a Jack and specifically mark the “input” to any of the old combo’s 1/4”

End result being a “decent” driver on a “dead” cab with a bunch of nonfunctioning knobs and one working input. But I like how solid the cab is built, this is all in my wheelhouse, and I like the color orange

What am I missing or not thinking about?
