Michel LeGrand "Brian's Song"
Very sad movie. Caan did a bang up job of acting.

Was a big fan of George with the Beatles, solo, and with the Wilburys. One of my favorites:

"Handle With Care"

Is this the movie about Brian Piccolo? If so I have always wanted to see it yet never get around to it.

I never made it through the movie without crying like a little girl. Especially this scene when Gale Sayers accepts the George S. Halas Courage Award.

Please put it on your things to do list. I am sorry for posting what I guess is a "spoiler" above.

Will do, making a note now. No worries about the spoiler, I doubt I will remember by Monday.

When I was in HS and college I didn't listen to a lot of John Lennon because he was so diametrically opposed to my views on things. I learned later after graduating from college that I made a big mistake and I missed out on a lot because of my obstinance.

John Lennon "Gimme Some Truth"

Still true today.

How Do You Sleep?- John Lennon

Love how Lennon always got drummers to mimic in as much as possible, Ringo´s style.

I never appreciated Ringo when younger (the same, with Charlie Watts), but that sound. Oh, that flat but deep and flawlessly solid sound.

ETA Flat and deep, makes no sense, but Ringo´s drumming was absolutely unique. Spartan like, but oh so powerful.

Great song, Dandy. I didn't watch the entire video yet, but is it the one where he sings, "How do you sleep, you count?"

John was such a smart arse (which is why I came to really like him). He was once asked if Ringo was the best drummer in rock and roll and he answered that Ringo wasn't even the best drummer in The Beatles.

Lennon was glib, to gloss over his inner darkness, but the proof is there. He very much appreciated Ringo´s style.

No question.

"Mother" is a good example of his inner demons.
