What the fack happened with Gary Clark's new album?

Whoever produced this needs to be shot. Most songs have a huge disconnect between the lyrics and the rhythm. And wow a lot of the lyrics are just awful.
So disappointed Clark went in this direction. Dude has so much talent.

I do not see Gary Clark Jr as a very good song writer and mainly tune in to hear him play the frick out of guitar. It is why his live album is so damn good.
