What paid options are there for downloading songs similar to i-tunes?

I've always used my phone and Amazon prime but my 10 year old is wanting an MP3 player to put some songs on to listen to while playing in the yard (or getting pumped up before a game is what he really said). So I'm looking for options including i-tunes to download onto a computer and transfer to an MP3 player since you can't do that with Amazon.

Any other suggestions would be welcome too!

You can buy MP3 files from Amazon.

For a free option, check out Freegal. The EBR library system lets you download 7 free tracks per week, and you can add tracks over that limit to a wishlist, which makes it easy to download a whole album over a couple of weeks or more. You're not going to find everything there, but I just downloaded the new Pink album, for example, and the tracks are 256 Kbps LAME-encoded MP3.

Ok thanks, wonder if Acension library has something similar? Will look into that more. I was looking earlier and it looks as if Napster is still around.
