I really enjoy Tyler Childers and Billy Strings and have seen both live multiple times. It's interesting the opposite approaches they are taking for their current tours. Billy plays to as many people as want to come - probably because he just loves it. He's playing 2 nights in Mobile at the civic center, probably seating about 5,000-7,000 per show with a half-circle stage setup. He'll do 3 shows at Lakefront arena in December.
Tyler is playing 1 show in NOLA (tour opener I believe) at the 2,000-capacity Fillmore.
Both should be great shows but I'll take a Billy show over Tyler any day, regardless of price.
Cheapest Stubhub prices for tonight's shows: $4 for Billy; $256 for Tyler.
I'll wait to catch Tyler again when he moves up to bigger venues or adds more dates to tour stops. Might catch Dale Watson tonight at Rock-n-Bowl for $20.

Spend another $20 on shots for Dale and it will be well worth it. He can down like no one I’ve ever seen and is hilarious when he gets belligerent.

Saw Dale at the Red Dragon in BR recently - no one scored any Lone Star for him and he feigned being mildly perturbed about that but put on a great show.
