back at it ...this band along with Sabbath are probably my 2 favorite hard rock/metal bands of all time( Priest in the mix too)..they have decades of releases and have had epic frontmen ...so here s how i rank my top 5:
5.Come Taste The Band --1975(w/David Coverdale)
4.Machine Head-1972
3.DP In Rock--1970
2.Burn-1974
1.Fireball--1971
so as u can see .i like the Ian Gillian era the best .. I would probably put Perfect Strangers #6

3.DP In Rock--1970
2.Burn-1974

Machine Head is the perfect album. I've only owned that and Who Do We Think We Are? They truly are a band of absolute all-stars.

agree . i think they get overlooked when people start talking about the GOAT hard rock /metal band .. Its hard to find a band with more talented musicians in it through all their years .. I meen they had Coverdale,Gillian and Glenn Hughes all sing in the band . ian pace ,john lord ,roger glover and BLACKMORE ... hard to find a better collection of beasts in one band like that

1 machine head
2 burn
3 perfect strangers(might be #1 for me on any given day)
4 in rock
5 come taste the band
Made in Japan makes all of these studio records pale in comparison. They were a great live band.

I would put machine head number one.
I remember cruising town with it blasting on the 8-track.
