Best 50 Kinks Songs

I’m sure there will be quibbles with this list, I certainly have some, but good read.

Best 50 Kinks Songs

Meh list w/some really shiity picks ("Alcohol"? Seriously?) & a ridiculous #1 (even though I do like the song).

Missing:

"Autumn Almanac"
"Dead End Street"
"The Way Love Used To Be"
"Funny Face"
"Sittin' On My Sofa"

Another good modern comparison to the Kinks is Blur - they're super English, there's a wistfulness to their music, they did a lot of different styles, both bands didn't get enough props from U.S. audiences. Ray Davies gave Blur his seal of approval and performed with them.

"Dead End Street"

Big song.

That said, someone mentioned Picture Book earlier. I personally think this is absolutely top notch. Was never a single. Amazing.

The songs about a beautiful and headstrong prostitute is also rarely referenced. Monica.

Margaret Sanger should not have a theater named after her
