Just think of the shite that casual fans don't associate with him:

The New York Dolls' first record (he produced)

Bat out of Hell (he produced and played all the guitar parts, including the motorcycle sound effects)

Produced probably the best all around Badfinger album (Straight Up, which included Baby Blue and Day After Day), although he replaced and shared production credits with George Harrison

We're an American Band, the top charting GFR album, produced by Rundgren

How many big names come in to a Guitar Center? I would guess Nashville would have some boutique guitar / music shops for the big names.

Almost said professional musicians but that is all that lives in Nashville these days... Everyone is trying to make it...
