As I said, I'm a big Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler fan, and as a whole, Dire Straits' first 2 albums are my favorites. There are great songs from all of their other albums, but they all have some stuff that I don't care for too.
There was definitely a change in style, from the first 2 albums and the rest. Interestingly enough, Mark Knopfler's brother David, was the rhythm guitar player for the band on the first 2 albums, but left after those. IMO, he was a hell of a rhythm guitar player and added a lot to the style.
I would really like to hear them record together again, how bout yall?
