I have heard her tell the story about ir. It was supposed to be on Rumors. She was super passionate about it as she felt it was one of the best songs she ever wrote and she had gifted the publishing on that song to her mother so she would get the royalties. When the band and management outvoted her and cut it from the album she never forgave them. It contributed to her deciding to go solo a few years later. She is still pissed about it to this day.

I don't know about "massive", but Gerry Rafferty's "Right Down The Line" saw a big bump after being featured on HBO's Euphoria.

The Hit Parade podcast had an episode about this in depth - basically songs that were even bigger the 2nd time around. If I recall, Tiny Dancer was the poster child.
