Old guy, not very tech savvy, want to play some small venue solo acoustic gigs. What is best device to use as a teleprompter for song lyrics. The old memory ain’t what it used to be. Thanks.

Best thing to get is an ipad. They make fairly inexpensive holders for them that clip onto a microphone stand. My lead singer uses one most every show. As a bonus, if the venue has wifi, you can use it to look up chord charts and lyrics on the fly to take simple requests.
In addition, if you’re using a digital mixer, you can likely control it with the same ipad.

+1 for getting a tablet. I have a cheap android tablet that I use for lyrics and chord charts. We run everything through a Behringer Xair so I also use it to tweak my in-ear mix.
