Thinking I might prefer it to their 2 most recent albums. It is more understated and doesn't have the self indulgent guitar work that those two albums have in certain songs, but a phenomenal listen IMO.

It’s a great album. I wouldn’t put it quite on the level of Lost in a Dream and a Deeper Understanding, but that’s a very high bar to reach. Still some great tracks there: Baby Missiles, Best Night, Brothers, Black Water Falls, etc.

Between that phenomenal 3 album stretch and my favorite cover of the decade (Touch of Grey), they are the artist of the decade for me.

I’m hoping they keep their three year album pattern up (2008, 2011, 2014, 2017) and we get a new album next year.

It’s 2 stars at best. The 2 follow up are much much much better.

I used to think the same thing too, mate. Hell, Lost in the Dream is what got me into them. But then I grew up.

Brothers, Best Nights and Come to the City are some gems, and this was the last album you had Kurt Vile contribute on. Great album.
