Serj definitely doesn't have the "best' voice, but he's very unique and creative in the way he uses it. The worst thing that happened to System of a Down was when Daron decided that he was more than a backup singer.
Serj is also responsible for Fair to Midland getting to make Fables from a Mayfly, so that's another big bonus.
