That was just a weak arse excuse. Kid hasn't actually seen his own kids in three days. But it was sure nice talking to him.

Dad should have seen the writing on the wall years earlier when his son was cutting him short, while asking for the car keys, then skeedaddling.

Dad also should have played with his kid when he asked even though he had a lot to do that day.
