Poster for a concert in Hattiesburg, 1968. $4 seems kinda steep for the period, or maybe I'm just cheap (twenty years later I missed seeing Alex Chilton at the Chimes b/c I refused to pay $7)

July 17, 1968: Somehow, a then-unknown David Bowie was able to attend the world premiere of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine film. Judging from how he's dressed, I doubt if he got into the actual screening. But he was able to sneak a couple of photos with the cardboard cutouts in the lobby.

Tom Petty with good friend Peter Wolfe of the J Geils band. Interesting side note. Tom wrote Don't Do Me Like That for the J Geils Band and Wolfe rejected it. He claims he now kicks himself in the arse on a regular basis for that.
