If you like real songwriter country and you aren't familiar with Radney, get this album. I've been a huge fan of his for years and just happened to find out he was playing a quick set at Cactus Music here in Houston. Got to hear him and get a few pics. Picked up the album and talked to him for a minute...great guy and great songwriter. Check it out...it was recorded at Dockside Studios in Louisiana.

“I wanted the album to have a band feel, and to do that I knew we needed to get away from schedules and cell phones.” They landed at Dockside Studios, a little pocket of soul alongside the Louisiana bayou. The space is the site of a long-forgotten brothel, and far from the sterile studios of Nashville.

“When you’re sitting with the moss is hanging from the trees and the bayou rolling by, you can’t help but have your songs slow down and get swampier.”

His record "See What You Want To See" is incredible....A little more crossover than country, but a great record.

A dear old friend of mine is the resident engineer at Dockside. Radney is the real deal, a gifted storyteller and talented musician still striving to not have a cookie-cut sound (e.g. cutting in LA). I got to know him a little in Nashville and was honored to work with him a few times.
