For you classical music fans, here is Rostropovich, the greatest cellist of the 20th century playing the first of 6 concertos J.S. Bach wrote for the cello.

1 man, 1 cello, recorded in a Medieval cathedral with no special effects. Perfection

Indeed. This guy was the master. Some of the great cellists of the past 50 years were his students, people like Yo Yo Ma, Mischa Maisky, Natalia Gutman, and Jacqueline du Pre. He was also a tie to the past, studying under Pablo Casals. Rostropovich, incredibly, was also a concert pianist

Btw, the place he's playing in the video is Vézelay Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in Vézelay, France. It was constructed between 1120 and 1150 AD.
