damn shame the creators ran a great festival into the ground
How are rap artists on the bill for any festival?

I agree that rap is generally terrible live but there are some guys who put on a really good show. Snoop, Outkast, Mystikal come to mind.
edit: plus it doesn't really matter if they are good or not. If they're a well known group, having them there will help sell tickets.

I love rap but it rarely translates well live

BULLLLL shite!
I've seen Snoop like 3 or 4 times. Each show was great.
The Mystikal show I saw was the best rap concert I've seen. He performed with "Hot Sausage" a live brass band. They played his songs and he rapped over them. It's incredible to hear him live. He raps so fast yet perfectly annunciates each syllable.

I drove down from Mobile yesterday, walked right in like I owned the place, and saw Chance the Rapper for free.
It was badass. Kendrick Lamar (despite being late) put on a helluva show a couple years back too

Chance was pretty good

Haven't been since 2013, Stevie Wonder, Tom Petty and a good under card made for a good time on the beach.
I look at the lineup every year to try and convince myself to go, it would only take a mediocre lineup cause the beach and the scenery are top notch, but they can't even pull off a mediocre lineup anymore.

Nobody can. Every major festival lineup is mainstream shite.
Even Sasquatch smh

I can't get into stuff like this. A dude playing music from a lap top and twisting a few nobs.

It's not something I would listen to on my own time, but seeing him live was insane.
