Looking for some help with a processor. I have a very simple system at my home. I have one of those huge open floor space great rooms that wont allow me any back speakers. I would love to possibly add some on the ceiling but I am not sure how effective they would be. Thats down the road as well.

But for now, I have a 3.2 system and I use it for our daily TV, movies but Id say I use it more for music than anything. My set up is the following.

Emotiva MC1 Processor (Looking to upgrade)

Emotiva XPA 3 (Gen3) Amp

SVS Prime Pinnacle Towers

SVS Prime Center

Dual SVS 2000 subs

Eversolo A6 Streamer

Pioneer Blueray

Screen is Samsung 75" QLED

I use a ROKU ultra to stream YoutubeTV and use streaming apps.

My music source is Tidal Max through the Eversolo

I do have a cheap phono but it also needs upgrading.

I would like to upgrade my processor. The Emotiva MC1 is giving me some connection issues and Im just ready to upgrade. Id like something that does both theatre for my current 3.2 but have some capability to got to 5.2 at some point or maybe some ceiling speakers. Something along the line of quality and priceline of the existing equipment I have. I dont think I need a 5K processor. Maybe keep it $2500 or less

Any help would be appreciated.

Beautiful system!

Dumb question.... and bear with me. I'm still learning. You mentioned you had the Emotiva processor. What does a processor do that your amp doesn't do? Is that strictly for running your blu ray player through?

The processor is basically the controller. Everything connects to it and it directs the audio/video to the right place as well as diagnose the type of formats and adjust accordingly. Same as a pre amp but it does some video stuff as well.

It does not have any amplification. The final audio signals go from it to the amp then to the speakers

The video signals go from it to the screen.

Ah I see. Thanks.
I have that Emotiva Basx ta 2 amp. It's not bad.

I also have the xt 1s. I'm a bit pissed because they're down to $700.00.

Do you know if Emotiva sells an affordable pre amp? I need something with an HDMI input to run a blu ray player into.
