Lady Antebellum concert/cover songs

First of all, I hate country music
Anyway, friend of mine begged me to attend this concert last night. I was only there for about 10-12 songs and they literally played 7-8 cover songs.
Is this normal for country music acts?
I don't understand why someone would pay good money to hear them play all other people's songs. Couldn't I just go see a cover band?
BTW. I didn't pay anything for the ticket

I went to their Gulfport concert 2 years ago. Most of it was their own songs. Very good show.
