The Beatles have the opposite effect on me. Everytime I hear one of their songs it drives me further away from The Beatles
How about this? Every super successful act is going to have this effect, to a degree, on some portion of the listening audience.
Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it is good. However, it has tapped into something of the consciousness (it cannot be argued that the Beatles were a fad - too persistent for that) - it must be admitted. The corollary to that, just because something is super popular, doesn't mean it is bad either - but overexposure can turn some folks off - without question.
So, I achieved respect for the Beatles over time, well into adulthood. Exposure has done the opposite for you. We can both be right within our own subjective tastes, agreed?

Totally. I am just not a fan of The Beatles. Nobody is right or wrong with music. Too subjective

You're probably right, but not even one show? An anniversary show? Or some major cause? Something HUGE? Like the tsunami in 2004 or Farm Aid, Apartheid?
That would have been awesome. I like a good bit of his solo stuff so I would have gone see him play that.

the beatles were not the same group all along.
teen pop. I wanna hold your hand.
then really really good. a few albums in a row.
then all over the map as the guys wanted to stretch their wings. with jewels among the not so great.
