I’ve been listening to this all weekend. What an album! His recent releases have been good, not great. This one really has sounds from all the different sounds of his career. It’s very, very good.

I agree. It is a great album, I listen to it for the first time all the way through yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I agree that it has a lot of different type songs and sounds from the past.

I really like it a lot. He left us with vintage Jimmy on this album. Bubbles Up is like his goodbye, hard to listen without getting hit in the heart stings

Great album; great goodbye.

Finally getting to listen fully without interruption, and it is probably the best JB album front to back since the early 80s - maybe since Coconut Telegraph. There are a couple of songs (Fish Porn, My Gummie) that will be skips, but all in all, damn...
I love the callbacks to all of the different songs and lyrics. Buford Pusser/Semi-true Stories in Close Calls; Jolly Mon, Desdamona, and Fun Tickets/First Look in Ti Punch Cafe; Volcano and Come Monday in Portugal or PEI.
Bubbles Up had been a tearjerker since they first played it on Radio Margaritaville the day after he died, but Columbus may well be Jimmy's best pure vocal ever.
