Even Duane's non-slide stuff on 'Liz Reed, Blue Sky, Hot 'Lanta, Mountain Jam, Whipping Post, and some of his studio work (Hey Jude and Loan Me a Dime come to mind) is pretty damn fire.

True - he was a gifted guitar player, but I would put Dickey's best non-slide up against Duane's all day long. That's kind of the point - from a pure musicianship standpoint, it's pretty close when you factor in everything a guitar player provides for a band - and the ABB was one of the earliest (and most influential, I would argue) "twin lead" setups that would be followed by the most rare "triple lead" of Skynyrd, and the twin leads from Thin Lizzy (among others in the 1970s), and NWOBHM bands (notably Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, & Def Leppard).
