For those of you who like the song, do you like the acoustic version?

I personally hate it. When the vocals end I am ready for the guitar solo and the acoustic is such a let down.

If I had been at that concert I'd have been ticked!

It falls more in line with the band's country rock roots and works well once you realize that the song's working title was "Mexican Reggae".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that entire performance on MTV's Unplugged. You kind of knew what you were getting yourself into has an audience member.

Hell, watch Stevie Ray Vaughn's Unplugged performance and tell me if you call that a letdown.

The only bands that should never go unplugged are hard rock or heavy metal groups.

I disagree because their early songs were not acoustic.

Don't get me wrong, I see how people would like it. I just don't.

I don't know at all. My comment was more hypothetical.

Considering Bernie Leadon's use of the banjo and the implementation of multiple acoustic guitars on the majority of their songs, they certainly were a borderline or hybrid acoustic-electric group reminiscent to Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

Yes, I realize that by utilizing any electric guitar that essentially erases the "acoustic" label, but when you compare their pre-Felder/Walsh sound to their later work it's very different.

I'd say sort of.

Take it Easy and Witchy Woman from their first album were not CSNYish nor were Already Gone or Good Day in Hell from On the Border.

The album in between, Desperado was much more like you describe.

Check out this girl playing all parts on one guitar. She's 18.

Gets interesting about 2 or three minutes in.

I watched for about an hour last night and branched out to several of the Eagles videos as well.
