October 20 will mark the 40 year anniversary. I've wanted to see it, but it's on a chicken farm owned by a Vietnamese guy. He is not very accommodating from what I hear.

Why should he be?

I hunt relatively near there and went and found the property this spring. I didn't get out. It's not marked and you'd have to go fairly deep off the road to get to the exact spot. Because there's no maker and its private property I didn't go any further. I, like a lot of people, would love to walk it though. I respect its private land, however, and don't know the owners.

I was driving from NOLA to Jackson, MS a few years ago and thought about trying to find it. I'd say it's definitely sacred ground in the music world.
