Don't care for most of his post-'60s stuff ("Get Out Of Denver" being the notable exception) but he made some great records before then:

PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) _ Bob Seger’s ex-wife says the rock singer beat her and pressured her to have an abortion with the false promise he would remarry her, a lawyer said Wednesday.
He said the singer beat his ex-wife outside a Los Angeles nightclub in January 1989 and said the beating caused her hospitalization six months later for exhaustion, dehydration and mental illness. LINK

I was a huge Seger fan growing up. Saw him on the Night Moves tour but when I read that in the early’90’s it sickened me.
