Lots of people probably already knew this, but i didn’t till now.

He was on keyboard for Video killed the radio star by The Buggles.

Sure wouldn’t have thought that much great movie music would have that as his start.

There is a lot of debate over how much he was involved in that track (and The Buggles, generally). He is seen on keyboards for the music video, that's for sure. In all likelihood, he was responsible for some synth programming and production/arrangement. I mean, the band had Geoff Downes who was an elite prog rock keyboardist, so what could Zimmer have added there? And both Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes were highly capable producers and arrangers.

He did litigate this issue and lost, by the way. It is interesting about his involvement before he became a legendary film composer.
