So we all make mistakes.

The wood isnt damaged, and it doesnt feel rough or jagged when I touch it. Seems like it was only the paint that was effected.

Was wondering what a ballpark quote would be on a small professional repair for this?

Rest of the guitar lol

Everytime I bump my guitar against something I want to cry. Hope you can get it fixed.

That’s just a graze wound. Adds character.

Is that pure black, no transparency or metallic/flake? To make it go away completely, pro job, like it never happened? Plan to spend no less than $150-200 for headstock disassembly, binding masking, a color touch up, wet-sand, poly clear to match the original clearcoat, more wet-sanding, pro buffing, and reassembly. At least that's what I'd charge you if I did it.

I'd also tell you don't do it, because shortly after a painter busts his or her butt ... and you spend money to make it immaculate ... you're going to inevitably ding it into something else. Murphy's Law ... if you touch and enjoy something every day, you cannot expect it to continue to look new.

If you want a minty clean one, buy a second one and hang it on the wall under track lighting. And don't take it off the hook ... only feather dust it.

This is my experience as well. I have an old Ibanez Artist that I've had since the 80s. I dinged it very similar to the OP pic. I did my best to touch it up myself and it wasn't too bad; I had to point it out to people or they'd have a hard time finding where I did it. Then it happened again. While I was procrastinating on touching that one up, it happened a third time. Now it's all beat up, got buckle rash LAMF on the back, etc.

This is how "player guitars" are born.

Well I was wondering because of resale value. Dont know if I'm planning on hanging onto it forever and was just wondering what it would take. Thank you
