It’s MUCH better than Phil Spector’s. Listening to the anniversary 6-disc version of Let It Be. It’s more …real. Studio stuff, raw. Much better.

I also have a ROIO from those sessions called Sweet Apple Trax and they had a countrified Let It Be song on it. It is great!

The "raw" sound is exactly what Paul McCartney was going for; it's how the songs are meant to be heard. Just guys playing together and enjoying making music.

Spector was brought in by the band's new sleazbag manager, Allen Klein, who himself was hired by John because Yoko liked him. George and Ringo went along with it because Paul was against it.

Paul ended up releasing Let it Be...Naked decades later, which sounds similar to a lot of the Glyn Johns stuff. No overproduced, Wall of Sound garbage.

George and Ringo ate crow for this, both admitting that Paul was correct all along.
