I saw a Dixie record label recording with Johnny Cash and Goerge Jones singing. I read that it was a vanity label of personal recordings done from non studios? Can you help me with why Cash and Jones would be on the label?

Apparently Jones started at Dixie

Cash started at Sun then went to Columbia in '59. I don't know why he'd be on Dixie

One of the great Country names, though perhaps not in the same league as his Sun labelmate Malcolm Yelvington

Faron Young from the film, Country Music Holiday. In the film, Faron has to take the stage after Ferlin Husky wowed them. Faron's manager tells him to go all out and do something different to try to win the audience. Faron does an obvious take off of Elvis's style.
